Direct Support Trainer
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in a home setting. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in implementing plans of action (POA) and ensuring the continued-growth towards a more independent life.
Duties
- Aid participants on implementing strategies to attain more indepndence.
- Support by encouraging a routine for daily living activities such as cooking, personal hygiene, and mobility support.
- Implement individualized plan of actions tailored to each participant’s needs.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Provide leadership and engage participants in autonomy to promote their independence and quality of life.
- Support participants with achieving objectives and goals.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive environment for individuals with disabilities.
- Assist participantss with managing their health care medical appointments, prescription refills and documentation of medical appointment summary
- Document daily activities through note taking .
Requirements
- Previous experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to monitor patient health effectively and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with participants, families, and team members.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Must be have a driver license, insurance and registration.
- Must pass background check.
- Must have a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Flexibility in scheduling is important, as shifts may vary based on resident needs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.50 – $17.00 per hour
