Direct Support Trainer

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in a home setting. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in implementing plans of action (POA) and ensuring the continued-growth towards a more independent life.

Duties

Aid participants on implementing strategies to attain more indepndence.
Support by encouraging a routine for daily living activities such as cooking, personal hygiene, and mobility support.
Implement individualized plan of actions tailored to each participant’s needs.
Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
Provide leadership and engage participants in autonomy to promote their independence and quality of life.
Support participants with achieving objectives and goals.
Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive environment for individuals with disabilities.
Assist participantss with managing their health care medical appointments, prescription refills and documentation of medical appointment summary
Document daily activities through note taking .

Requirements

Previous experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Ability to monitor patient health effectively and respond to emergencies as needed.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with participants, families, and team members.
A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Must be have a driver license, insurance and registration.
Must pass background check.
Must have a professional appearance and demeanor.
Flexibility in scheduling is important, as shifts may vary based on resident needs.

Pay: $16.50 – $17.00 per hour
